Meant To Be Sometimes

Last night I have and extra ordinary time with friends and family networking at It's Design Related's Summer Artist Show. The night started off a little shakey i must say. The venue was amazing but not really meant to display photographs. The ugly tungston light and no space for work was putting a downer on my mood. Alot of mis-communication and phone tag had my hopes for this show at an all time low.
As my work was set up I decided to put my work where the would be the most foot traffic. THE FRONT DOOR! I politiced with the lady running the door and she told me it would be perfect and fine if i placed my work right by the door. My idea was that people will have to look at my work when the enter and leave the building.
As i sat there with a drink by the bar, looking at my work form a far, I noticed this woman gaze at my work and look through my portfolio and went back to her dinner party. I saw her point at my work and talk about it with her friends. As i set up my last piece she asked me if I was the photographer and to Find out it was Lisa Wiseman, A top 30 PDN photographer.. This is a big deal to me. She asked me to send her a small jpg of my couple image and asked for my card. Being the professional That I am.. i didnt have one. She gave me her card and I found out it was lisa. I told her i loved her and I would be in touch with her. That was the high light of my night. A top 30 Pdn photographer enjoyed my work enough to ask for an image copy.
I met the other photographers and they were very nice people and humble as well. They gave me compliments on my work and I felt that was well deserved considering the amount of work and dedication i have put in this craft.
I was happy to see friends and family who introduced me to more people and my network has grown tremendously. considering i was sober the whole night.. I had a great time and the EGO has been stroked!
