The Polaroid SX-70: Endagered Species
The SX-70 Polaroid camera was the first Single Reflex Instant camera on the market. Polaroid has just announced that they will be discontinuing instant film in 2009. Due to the rise of digital cameras and equipment, there is no market for instant film.
As far as my work is concerned, I have decided to work with the Polaroid Instant Film as the medium for my photographs. I have seen Polaroid fotos printed in large scale that look attractive. I have always been a big fan of large scale prints, I believe that my fine art work needs to be large scale, it delivers much more of an impact, like large scale painters. Polanoir in Europe inspired me to work in this fashion. Being able to print large scale with the Polaroids visual asthetics will allow me to create the images that ive been seeing in my heart.
